Animal Adoptions

Dogs, cats, and rabbits are looking for their new family! Could yours be the perfect fit? All available animals can be viewed online. Learn more about our adoption process, and meet the animals.

Lost and Found Pets

Looking for your pet? Did you find a pet? We're here to help. Every day HSSW staff and volunteers help reunite pets with their family. All animals currently in our care as lost/stray are listed on our website. You'll also find forms to report a lost or found animal in your community. View Lost Pets

Surrender your Pet

Making the decision to rehome your pet is not an easy one. Our team is here to make it as easy as possible. Animals accepted through our rehoming program will be onsite at HSSW in the care of our staff and volunteers until they find a new home. Learn more about the process, and make an appointment.

Spay and Neuter Program

Controlling the population of unwanted pets is one of the best ways to ensure pets have loving homes. HSSW offers spay and neuter services for the cats of low-income families in our area. Learn more about the program, make an appointment, and find resources for other programs. 

Pet Food Assistance

Our CHOW program offers pet food support to families in need. The program provides a limited, once-monthly distribution of dog food or cat food and cat litter. CHOW is supported entirely by donations and supply cannot be guaranteed. Details available on our website.

Youth Education

The road to being a humane, caring, and responsible pet owner starts early! HSSW offers youth education programs for grades 3 - 6 and additional programs for middle school students. Programs are available during summer and school-year sessions. View Upcoming Classes

Dog Training

Whether you're teaching an old dog new tricks, or starting your pup out on the right paw, HSSW has training classes for you! View Upcoming Classes

Behavior Resources

New pets can take a while to get used to their home. And even pets who have been home for a while can engaging in behaviors that need to be corrected. Our website offers a number of resources to help with common challenges.

Emergency Boarding

HSSW provides emergency boarding for the pets of families experiencing a temporary hardship. Space is limited and cannot be guaranteed. Learn more about this program and contact our team.

Make a Donation

As a non-profit, HSSW relies on the donations of our community. When you donate to HSSW, you're directly supporting the care and shelter of more than 8,000 animal each year. And your donation stays right here, in our community. Donate Today.

In-Kind Donations

If a financial contribution doesn't work for you, consider a donation food or supplies. You can find a list of items we need most on our Amazon Wish List. Purchase directly from the list, or shop locally and bring it to the shelter. The animals will be grateful for your support. Shop our Wish List.

Volunteer

Events
