HOW TO REGISTER, JOIN A TEAM & SET UP YOUR FUNDRAISING PAGE

  1. Follow the link to Register for the event and select the “REGISTER” button at the top of the page. Choose from a dog-friendly timed 5k run along the Columbia River or a dog-friendly, 3-mile walk along the Columbia River on Vancouver's new waterfront. Registration to walk or run includes a goodie bag and access to the Party in the Park. (Prefer to register with a paper form? Here it is!)
  2. Set up a fundraising page. During the registration payment process, you can choose to fundraise as a team or as an individual if desired. Under your ticket option, please enter your information and select how you would like to fundraise. If you do not want to fundraise and only participate in the Walk/Fun, disregard the "Fundraising Options" section. Once you’re done with registration, you’ll have the option to go directly to your fundraising page.
  3. Personalize your fundraising page. Upload that incredibly cute photo of your pet, the one that melts all the hearts. Tell the world why your pet is the best, why you’re running your first (or 50th) 5k, make it personal and clever. Your friends and family already love you, but show them why they should love you + pets even more.
  4. Go out into the world and conquer. Send out the unique link to your fundraising page and request donations. There are lots of ways to be creative and raise money for the dogs and cats. Check out some ideas here! Want to do business face-to-face? Collect cash and check and turn them in with a donation tracker. If you have an online page, we’ll add those donations to your page.
  5. Earn a little thank you. The more donations you earn the more prizes you’ll collect. Just a little something, something for all your awesome effort.
  6. Woof+Meow+Party. Join us at the event to celebrate the joy of people + dogs + cats. Grab a beer in the Heathen Brewing beer garden after your run, visit local businesses and get treats and toys in Vendor Village!! It’s a party and we’re going to have fun! All for the dogs and cats.
     



HOW TO CUSTOMIZE YOUR FUNDRAISING PAGE, SEND OUT AND START COLLECTING DONATIONS

  1. Log in to your profile with the email and password you created during set up. Click the three lines in the upper-right corner and then click, "Log In"
  2. Click on the circle icon in the right-hand corner to bring up the drop-down menu and select the fundraising page under "My Fundraisers"
  3. On your page, click on "Edit Fundraiser" in the tab menu
  4. Write your story. Why do you do Walk/Run? Do you love dogs, cats or both? Are you an adopter? A volunteer? Scroll down to upload photos of you and your pets
  5. Share your page. Go to "Manage Campaign"
  6. Copy and paste the URL on the right-hand side, underneath your photos, and include that in the email or text you send to family and friends so donations will come directly to your page. You can earn prizes every time you hit a prize level
  7. Don't be afraid to follow up after a week. On average, it takes two or three asks, but people love animals and want to support you! Update often and stay on the top of mind. You don't have to ask every time you post, and keep it fun!
