HSSW volunteers are an integral part of our organization, providing more than 100,000 hours of service every single year. That's a lot of dog walks, cat socials, adoptions, surgeries and plenty of stocking and sorting at ReTails Thrift Store! If you are ready to make a difference in the lives of shelter animals, volunteering with HSSW is a great way to start.
Currently unavailable. Please check back in April.
Please read through our volunteer opportunities to find a position that best suits your interests and schedule, and which you believe you would perform well. Each opportunity in the directory below lists a description, schedule and qualifications.
The first step to becoming a volunteer is to attend a volunteer orientation, where you will learn about our programs; volunteer opportunities; highest needs; policies, scheduling, and other important information when considering volunteering with us. It’s a way to estimate if HSSW sounds like a good fit for you. See the orientation schedule below and sign up for a date that works for you. Applications are available only to those who attend.
