Court-Appointed Community Service

Individuals who need to fulfill court mandated community service hours may do so at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington if they:

Are over the age of 18.
Have proof of current medical health insurance coverage.
Have no convictions or charges of sexual crimes, violent crimes, theft or crimes against animals.

Community service workers are scheduled only between the hours of 8am and 10am, any day of the week, and attendance is strictly enforced. Responsibilities include custodial & janitorial services only - direct work with the animals is not available.

All community service hours must be scheduled in advance. Drop-ins are not accommodated. Interested individuals who meet the minimum requirements stated above must complete a community service application.

Our community service program has very limited capacity, with no guarantee that a timely opening will be available. Completing an application will put you on the waiting list only. When an opportunity becomes available, our staff will contact those on the waiting list.

Please do not contact us to check on the status of your application.
