Preventing Unwanted Pets in Our Community

HSSW is home to Clark County’s first public spay and neuter clinic offering low-cost spay and neuter options for cats of low-income families. Funding for this program is provided as part of ASAP Metro - a coalition of local animal welfare agencies dedicated to making our community one of the safest in the nation for pets.

Spay & Save services are by appointment only. Proof of government support or low-income status may be requested to ensure eligibility. Examples of this support include, but are not limited to: WIC, food stamps, Section 8, Medicaid, etc..

Program Fees (per cat)

Government Assistance: $20
Low-Income Household: $30 (male cat) $35 (female cat)

    Second Chance Companions

    Second Chance Companions offers low-cost spay and neuter services to control pet overpopulation in the Clark County area. Application and other information available on their website.

    Must Love Dogs Northwest

    Must Love Dogs Northwest is a foster-based network for animals in need of a home. They also provide funding for spay/neuter services. Program information must be submitted via application on their website. 


    J.A.W.S. Justice for Animal Welfare Society

    Available for Clark County only. Offers spay and neuter services for applicants who meet the federal/state guidelines for low-income or receive government assistance. JAWS is only funded to serve the Clark County area.

    P.U.F.A People United for Animals

    This organization serves Clark, Cowlitz, Clackamas, and parts of Multnomah counties. All applications for spay and neuter services are located on their website. Co-pay depends on qualifications, type of animal, sex of animal, and vaccination needs.

    Oregon Spay and Neuter Fund

    The Oregon Spay and Neuter Fund is a small, volunteer-run tax-deductible organization. Visit their website for coupons for spay and neuter services which can be taken to participating vets.
