Nine Dogs Rescued from Dogfighting Operation
Precious cargo arrived at PDX Monday night.
We welcomed nine extraordinary dogs who have endured immense hardship and are now ready for a fresh start. Rescued by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) from an alleged dog fighting operation in New Jersey, these dogs were provided with much-needed care and behavioral rehabilitation before making their way to us.
The rescue operation saved over 120 dogs from multiple properties. These dogs were found in dire conditions, including barren pens, cold rain, and heavy chains, with many suffering from severe scarring, untreated wounds, and extreme neglect.
Despite the suffering they have endured, the dogs' capacity for love has not been diminished by their months and years of neglect. When they were unloaded from their long journey, they greeted our transport team with wiggly bodies and wagging tails, licking their hands through the kennel door.
We are committed to providing these nine dogs with the food, care, and nurturing environment they need while they await their second chance at a loving home.
Your support is crucial in helping us meet their needs. Please make a gift today to ensure they receive the best possible care during this transitional period.
Together, we can make a significant impact on their lives as well as the other animals who need our help for a brighter, happier future. Your unwavering dedication to the well-being of animals is giving these nine dogs the second chance they deserve.
Thank you for providing us with the means to say yes when called to help in such a large rescue effort.
