Donating Gently Used Items
Items we Can Accept
We are happy to accept gently used pet supplies (collars, leashes, toys, crates, carriers, etc.), blankets, towels, and other pet supplies for the animals. We also accept open bags of food to support our community pet food pantry.
Items We Cannot Accept
To ensure the health and safety of the animals in our care, and to reduce the cost of disposing of items we cannot use, we may decline some items.
We cannot accept the following:
Freeze dried treats
Medications or supplements*
Homemade treats or food
Pillows or stuffed blankets
Items that are damaged, soiled, or torn.
*Washington State regulations prohibit HSSW from accepting donations of used medications. This includes anything in a prescription bottle prescribed to a particular pet. Responsible disposal of prescription medication is important. Improper disposal can be a hazard to humans, animals and our environment. For a list disposal sites in your area, please click here.
The health of the animals is our priority, so we feed only high-quality foods which meet the AAFCO (Association of American Feed Control Officials) standards for complete and balanced nutrition.
