Thanks to our community of caring animal lovers, many pets are reunited with their families without ever coming to the shelter. We proudly partner with Petco Love Lost to help lost and found pets reunite with their families quickly and easily. Petco Love Lost makes it easier and faster for our community and staff to search for and locate reports for both found and lost pets. 

This simple-to-use tool is easily accessible to animal organizations nationwide and any person who finds a lost pet. Uploaded photos of missing pets are immediately scanned to determine whether the lost pet might match one of the more than 200,000 pets registered with Petco Love Lost. Effective January, 2025, HSSW will direct all persons wishing to file a found pet report to Petco Love Lost.

Pets listed below are not in care at HSSW. They are currently in the care of the family who submitted the report to HSSW. We do not accept requests for adoption or rescue placement for any animal listed below.

In order to redeem a pet, verification of ownership will be required. The following forms of verification may be requested:

• County license information registered to the pet
• One or more recent photos (preferably from multiple angles or including unique markings) to help identify the pet
• Vet records of the pet
• Microchip identification (when applicable)
