Pet Food Assistance
For many families in our community, a little help with pet food makes the difference between staying together or giving up their pet. Our CHOW program is available to any family or individual in need of pet food assistance.
CHOW Locations
Pet food may be picked up at the following locations during regular business hours.
Vancouver Campus/Shelter | 1100 NE 192nd Ave: Please arrive at the Animal Admissions door (on the south side of the building).
Longview Campus/Shelter | 909 Columbia Blvd: Please arrive at the Main Entrance.
ReTails Thrift Store | 5000 E Fourth Plain Blvd: Pet food is available at the checkout counter.
Local Food Banks and Food Pantries: HSSW partners with our local food banks and pantries to provide pet food for distribution to their clients. Available supply cannot be guaranteed by HSSW. Please inquire directly with your local food pantry.
Donate
You can support this critical community program with bags of dry dog and cat food. You can purchase items and have them sent directly to the shelter by shopping our online wish list. You can also donate food in person - donations can be dropped off at HSSW or ReTails during regular business hours. Bags must be unopened, and should be within one month of use-by dates on the package.
